Stamp Duty – changes in June and on the 1st July

It is a busy month for state government property stamp duties and first home owner grant changes.

The ACT updated their FHOG scheme at the beginning of June with changes to their stamp duty rates scheduled for the 1st July. Last week the NSW Office of State Revenue announced following the State Budget, their cap for FHOG on new homes would increase to $750,000.  Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory also regularly implement rate changes on the 1st July.
